Some of my favorites from last year were:
- The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson (review)
- Driving with Dead People by Monica Holloway (review)
- Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah (review)
- The Girl Who Stopped Swimming by Joshilyn Jackson (review)
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows (reveiw coming soon)
What I think is particularly interesting about this list is that 3 out of the 5 were audio books. I had never gotten into audios before, but now I love them!

interesting choices. I'm with you on the Guernsey book. I'd like to read The Gargoyle and The Girl Who Stopped Swimming. My BTT is up.
Gargoyle and Guernsey both made it to the top of my list as well. I'll have to check out The Girl Who Stopped Swimming...it seems like I'm hearing about Joshilyn Jackson all over the place lately.
I am having a hard time imagining Guernsey in print form. The audio is spectacular. I think I'm about ten minutes away from finishing it, so I'm off!
I loved Guernsey and Gargoyle too! Both wonderful books, I'm glad to see they're getting the love.

Firefly Lane was one of my favorites in 2008.
I debated putting The Gargoyle up. While I really liked it, something just said "enough books. they can't all be the best". ... and there my post ended! Hahah
I almost included The Gargoyle as well. My son gave the Guernsey book to my sister for Christmas based solely on the internet buzz, I'm going to have to read that one too.
I wish I listened good enough to do audio books. I think its a learned skill and since I ran a daycare for years, I'm just way too good at blocking out noise instead of listening closely!
