Today's Booking Through Thursday question is:
Some people read one book at a time. Some people have a number of them on the go at any given time, perhaps a reading in bed book, a breakfast table book, a bathroom book, and so on, which leads me to…
Are you currently reading more than one book?
If so, how many books are you currently reading?
Is this normal for you?
Where do you keep your current reads?

Right now, I am in the middle of two books. One is non-fiction and the other is an audio. I finished my fiction book last night and haven't picked up another one yet. I prefer to have only one book going at a time, but will often find myself in the middle of a fiction, non-fiction and audio book simultaneously.
If a book is holding my attention, I usually won't pick up another one until I finish it. Once my mind starts wandering while reading, I will start another book and read the slow one when I'm in the mood. I don't get much time for audio books as my commute to work is about 5 minutes so these often take me a while to finish.
My current read follows me from the island counter, where I read at lunch and sometimes before dinner, to bed, where I read while hubby is in the shower. I don't usually carry a book with me as my MP3 player is always in my bag, and that means an audio book is always handy.
How many books do you read at once?

Hi!
I usually have 3 or 4 books going at a time. Have never listened to an audio book. I'll have to give that a try! Have a great day!!

Oh yes! I'm there with you. I can do one fiction and one non-fiction (haven't gotten into audio yet).
I haven't tried Audio Books yet either. Might be good for riding the train when I can't get a seat. It is always hard to hold on and turn pages while standing.
I am the same way -- I want to listen to audio books, but my commute is too short.
I still haven't tried audio books! Perhaps I'd be in the middle of more books at one time if I was. Hmm.
I generally read three at a time and keep them on the floor or the ledge next to my bed. That is normal for me. Occasionally I listen to an audio book.
I love listening to audiobooks when I am knitting, I seem to knit faster!
Thanks for visiting my blog :-)
Good about the mp3player, then you sure always have something near :)
I really need to start getting some audiobooks
Since I only get an hour a so to read every day, I prefer to read one fiction book at a time. I usually always have a non-fiction book going to, but I may not read that every day. If I'm really enjoying a book, I don't want to be pulled away from it until I'm finished. I carry my fiction read everywhere I go. If I can ever figure out my iPod, I'll start using it for audios!
I like to have a fiction and a nonfiction (in addition to an audio for the car), but it seems like one usually 'wins'. Then I'll just finish it.
Just one...although I am curious about audiobooks..I have never tried one. I have an mp3 player, so I will have to check it out. :)
I'm currently reading ten books (it's insane, I know). But somehow or another, it worked out that I'm reading five fiction books, and five non-fiction books. It's still madness, but it's nice to learn there's a method too. =)
I'm usually reading the one book that follows me everywhere throughout the day.
I'm the same way...usually it's only one book at a time, but I can do a fiction and non-fiction at the same time, with an audio book in the car.
I generally read at two or three at once. I haven't decided if this helps or hinders me when it comes to getting through my TBR pile!
I tend to read one book at a time, but sometimes I'll read two depending on the book. I can see listening to an audio book while reading another book, although that's not something I've tried (since I don't listen to audio books--I'm still waiting for someone to give me an iPod for my birthday :-)).
I haven't tried a whole audiobook yet- I've done short stories but I always fall asleep :-/. Maybe I'll try borrowing one to see how it goes. :-)
